Message from Your President
It is 2012, where has the time gone? I know we all say that and probably more often as we get older. Someone once told me time goes faster because our past is longer and we have more memories of things we’ve done, places we have been, knowledge we have learned, people we have known, and lives we have touched.
As I thought about MG Paulson’s funeral and memorial services, I reflected on this - how many lives he touched. I certainly had validation of this by how fast the emails, phone calls, and snail mail was activated to let us all know of our loss.
In our fast paced world, with all our personal networks or memories we all want to stay connected, know of events that impact us in some way. Your Whooze Nuze article for our annual report is a great way to share your stories.
Our relationship with the 63d Division is one way to stay in touch with part of our life experiences and people who have touched our lives and lives we have touched in some way whether it be a long friendship or a brief encounter. Collectively we have a long and proud history.
If you are not getting emails, please give us your address. All the “fast” communication letting us know of a passing of one of our members shows how important it is for us to reach others in a hurry so as not to miss the opportunity to pay respects.
Our meetings give us an opportunity to renew acquaintances – memories. I hope you will be able to attend our 2012 annual meeting on 22 April. Our speaker will be one of our own members, MG Michael Schweiger, Commander 63d Regional Support Command. He will present “Updates on the Army Reserve” including his experiences commanding the new 63d RSC. Help us build our organization; invite someone you know who has been part of the 63d to lunch. We need new members in order to sustain the organization and endure our history is not lost for future generations.
Support with your own involvement, board meetings are open to interested members, the more members involved, the more we can do.
Thank you all for your service,
LTC Beverley Houghton USA (Ret)
